Why am I creating this website?

Before I laid thought to server for this website it occurred to me that few people I know ever speak of the bible. I have found over the years (seventy-seven) that very few people have even read a short sentence in the bible while so many have heard derogatory comments as concerns God’s word . One hundred years ago it was a book many people lived their lives reading. I also wondered about that so I began paying attention to what is being said about God, the bible, Jesus, and then was interested in the bumper stickers in the seventies that came to be which edited poorly what the bible’s intent was. These last were sacrilege as the “Valley of the Shadow of Death” is meant to warn us of our future without God as human beings.

The sum of all of these misconceptions was intentional. To denigrate in the minds of the uninitiated the scope and perfection of God’s word. To minimize the importance of what God has freely given us. To hide the truth as seen through God’s eyes, not our eyes.

Consider the bible a map of the road we should walk with warnings of other roads we should not travel as they lead to eternal death and deny the promise of God for eternal life. I fully understand that a lot of what I place here will be questioned, at first. That is exactly why I took this on because your questions have been my questions and I am well satisfied with the answers provided by God in this book. But not without study and reasoning and prayer. All of these go hand in hand as you begin reading of God’s map for you, us. As with anything in life, opinions of the meaning of His word vary. What doesn’t, in human history?

Do not consider what others say as an impediment as God knows you better than you know yourself. He knows when you open the cover of the bible for the first or the hundredth time. He will be on your side as you try to learn. At some point on your journey, you will understand who God is and why we are what we are. This is described in the first several paragraphs of the first book in the bible: Genesis. That book is the foundation for all the rest of what God has written for us to know and, more, understand. Understanding takes time and persistence. No journey is not tiring at times. Sometimes the view out the window is desolate and sometimes filled with wonder. It is this combination which makes the journey worthwhile. This is what allows us to discern what is and what is not beautiful. Remember that, no matter our age, we are children in the eternal. The eternal is where God exists and that has no parallel in our lives.

I wish you peace and that is why the bible is paramount to read and understand. All that we think we understand is in God’s hands. That is right where it needs to be and that all we have made on Earth is temporary. That is your first lesson.
