I mentioned a book, a “Tome,” in the first, introductory article here. A book I began reading quite on my own at age twelve. When I was nineteen I was sent to Vietnam during the war there, twice. I came home in one piece while so many thousands came home in body bags if they could find enough “body” to put in a bag.
What the heck got me through all that combat was the bible. It didn’t stop a bullet but it kept my mind intact just from reading and believing what I read. First, though, one must begin reading. All things in life start with a first and at the age of seventy-seven and with great health I wanted to pay back for my life by acquainting as many as I possibly could with the bible. It is denigrated by many in these times just as the bible said it would be denigrated in “the End Times.”
Still, even if you don’t believe I will attempt, lovingly, to bring you up to speed. Love of our fellow man is grossly out of favor these days but there are types of love and this I offer you is brotherly love. I consider all of us to be searching and this world is full of highways, streets, avenues, and roads all leading us away from God. There is only one path to Him and that is what I bring to you.
I will start here in earnest in a day or two. In the meantime I will write of myself so that you have a better understanding of who and, more, what I am. A far from perfect old man who is yet healthy and vigorous. My mental facilities are yet intact so here I go on a mission to teach the wonder of the bible. If you look askance at the bible I am writing this for you. Be open to learning is all I ask. The pleasure is all mine.
